Week 2, Day 1

FLM training week 2 day 1 and despite extremely mild weather yesterday I head out at 6 am this morning into freezing fog and ice. It's my own fault really. I should've run last night but I felt headachey and not quite up to it. I know a run might actually have perked me up and I might not feel 100% on race day but I just wanted to be at home. So this morning I had to run 4 miles which I managed in a super slow 45 minutes and 53 seconds. I managed to navigate the icy pavements until my 'cool down' walk the last few yards to home when I went totally skiddy baroochie outside our local corner shop. No frozen water bottle this time just a nice layer of frost (why??) on my fleece.

The Garmin is working out extremely well. I managed to upload my workouts from last week onto the computer and the information it gives you is amazing. Little graphs showing your heart rate for each run, your pace, and even a map of your route showing the names of the roads! There's still more capability that I've yet to tap into and I don't think I quite understand some of the info but I wouldn't be without it. A worthwhile investment!
